![]() I also visited downtown Lynchburg, which is a cool little place that is undergoing a revitalization. There were lots of birds, some camping on private land off of the trail and I even spotted an old Airstream down by the river. Walking across the bridge to the island was like stepping back in time and the trail was heavily traveled even on a weekday afternoon. The trail was an old railroad bed that is now paved and connected to a small island along the James River, Percivals Island, that you could also walk on. One afternoon, I ventured to Lynchburg to try their Riverwalk Walking Trail, which was another colorful treat. The numerous hills made it more of a workout and a much needed change from my flat coastal walks! Andy and I had just started rucking and I made sure to carry my weight on my walks. I worked most of the days and took my late afternoons walking the campground, which had a beautiful lake and wooded walking trails. It was janky job but it worked for the week (please don’t joke me – I’m just happy I got LJ backed up in there)! Img 8 I spent the longest time getting it level and broke a few of my leveling blocks. I chose one of the first ones near a farm field with lots of trees bordering the horse fence. I always say that I learn something each time I camp and this time I learned to drive the entire campground before I chose my site. Did you know there is a town called Virgilina that is on the border of the two states (but really on the Virginia side)? The drive was so nice mostly through country towns in North Carolina and Virginia and the campground was well-kept. I traveled for a week stay to Lynchburg, Virginia and camped at Thousand Trails in nearby Gladys, and got my soul fed with lots of peace, tranquility and colors! Img 8 I wanted to see colors since where I live we only get to see the blue green hues of the ocean and I long for some diversity in seeing orange and reds. Even the best-maintained RV batteries were not designed to last forever.Fall is my favorite time of the year because I love walking outside everyday, but when it’s cool and the colors around you are amazing, the daily walks are the best. However, many of us forget to keep track of our battery’s lifespan. We always remember to check the oil levels and change old tires. Oftentimes, RV battery problems are caused by an old battery. Seeing as RV batteries are over 60% water, keeping the RV overcharged can lead to rapid water evaporation and overheating. ![]() While one of the main reasons for RV battery problems is a low charge over an extended period of time, too high of a charge over an extended period can also cause significant battery damage. High Charge for An Extended Period of Time If your RV battery is at too low of a charge for a long period of time, the crystals will become too big to breakdown and completely ruin the battery!Ģ. This is why it is imperative that you keep your battery at a high charge (over 50%) as much as possible. Thankfully, these crystals are dissolved when the battery is charged. Low Charge for Extended Period of Timeĭid you know that whenever you use a lead battery, minuscule crystals of sulfuric acid are deposited on the battery’s metal plates. Here are some of the most common causes for a dead RV battery:ġ. Seeing as RVs have two types of battery systems (RV engine battery and RV house battery), finding the source of the problem can be twice as difficult!
